I make a lot of different kinds of work. It’s never been important what I do but rather that the work gets done. This philosophy frees me from the discipline of being an expert and allows me to play with what vies for my attention. Consequently, my work varies from hand-printed wood to handwoven rugs, to tufted icons. My subject matter wanders too. Ideas about memory, place and facility are recurring themes. Recreating details matters less to me than capturing gestures. I try to use what I have and to not be hindered by need. Learning new skills and letting process initiate an outcome keeps me off balance and forever challenged.
